DIPW is a great opportunity for Dietetic students to make connections and learn more about their future career path. While in the past DIPW has been an in-person event held in College Station, Texas, it will be held virtually this year due to COVID-19. However, do not be discouraged because this will allow more students to attend that would otherwise have been unable to attend in the past. At DIPW students have the opportunity to hear from different RDs with varying specialties, ranging from clinical to research experience. The dietitians in attendance share their experience in their specialty within dietetics, and their academic/occupational journey. The Dietetic Internship (DI) Programs Fair has 15-20 different programs represented each year. Each internship has a representative in attendance, and students are permitted to ask questions and take valuable notes over each program. The fair gives students the opportunity to meet program directors, network with them, and learn more about their internships. Students will also receive a PDF created by the planning committee, and will listen to a presentation from Mrs. Karen Beathard about the internship matching process.
